George Toth was named COO of Mount Airy Casino Resort in December 2008 and three months later elevated to the post of President and CEO.

For the past 25 years, Mr. Toth has boosted the odds that the casinos and hotels he’s worked for will turn a healthy profit, starting in 1984 as director of purchasing for the Sands Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.  Between his first and current position, he has presided over such varied support activities as Casino and hotel operations construction, security, human resources, government relations, marketing, finances and development.

Mr. Toth also worked for seven years with legendary financier Carl Icahn in acquiring and turning around under-performing hotel and casino properties.

Opened in 2007, Mount Airy Casino Resort stands on the site once occupied by the historic Mount Airy Lodge.  The 1,500-acre idyllic tract, in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, is less than a two-hour drive from New York, Philadelphia and northern New Jersey.

“Today, we’re a facility with 2,500 slot machines, 200 rooms and suites, a spa, championship golf course, five restaurants and a nightclub that showcases America’s premier entertainment attractions,” Mr. Toth summarizes. “Our long-term aim is to develop a complete destination resort with more table games, branded hotels shopping mixed-use residential tennis courts and skiing.”

A native of New Jersey, Mr. Toth holds an undergraduate degree in environmental science from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and a master of business administration degree from Monmouth University.  He is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and the New Jersey National Guard.

Before assuming his present duties, Mr. Toth served as chairperson of the Delaware Valley American Heart Association and was a board member of Red Cross of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey and of the South Jersey Food Bank.
